JAKARTA: President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono inaugurated the digital television transmitter TVRI Jakarta, Surabaya and Batam, which will become the new standard TV broadcasts globally.
The President was accompanied by Madame Ani Yudhoyono, along with the Minister of Communications and Information Tifatul Sembiring, Governor Fauzi Bowo, and Director of TVRI Imas Sunarya digital television transmitter was inaugurated. TVRI itself has started testing the digital broadcasting since 2007 in Jakarta with a single digital channel.
